Equipment and machinery transport from Europe to CIS countries

When purchasing European equipment, the date of payment, the date of readiness and the date of release from the warehouse may not coincide. To organise transportation, it is important to determine in advance the moment when the supplier will actually hand over the prepared cargo to the carrier. Otherwise, the truck may arrive before the end of packaging or without the necessary information for delivery.

Inlogistics organises road transport of equipment and machinery from Europe to the CIS countries. We consider standard and oversized shipments. For each request, we specify the country of departure, characteristics of the goods, the final recipient and the agreed scope of work.

Where does responsibility for transportation begin?

The proposal must clearly indicate the location of the collection: factory, seller’s warehouse, manufacturer’s site, or another address. They separately agree on who prepares the cargo for delivery, ensures loading and transfers documents. These issues should be checked against the terms of the purchase, and not determined only by the usual practice of the previous delivery.

It is useful to obtain written confirmation of readiness from the supplier. It should explain the batch contents, the number of packages, contact details for the dispatch coordinator and the acceptable time of arrival. If pre-registration of transport is required, data for it is requested in advance.

Why check the goods before dispatching the truck?

Europe includes different countries, and export conditions cannot automatically be considered the same for the entire region. Before route confirmation, applicable export, transit and import requirements are reviewed, including restrictions for the specific product, parties to the transaction, and the destination of the equipment.

This verification may require the exact name, model, technical description and end use information. The wording “industrial equipment” is too broad. The transport plan must meet the applicable requirements; having a vehicle available does not establish that the goods can be exported.

Transport parameters are more important than catalogue parameters

The dimensions from the manufacturer's quotation must be compared with the final packaging. The machine may have a transport base, a protective box and separate packages containing accessories. The equipment has removable elements that are transported independently in agreement with the manufacturer.

For oversized items, a drawing in the transport position, the weight of each item and the requirements for handling the cargo are requested. Selecting transport and checking the route are carried out using this data. We will organise obtaining the necessary special permits and approvals as part of the agreed transportation.

Prepare the receiving site before dispatch

If the equipment is traveling to an operating facility, the recipient needs to compare the arrival with the readiness of the site and installation work. The address of the checkpoint is not sufficient: the actual unloading point, the procedure for admitting transport and the person responsible for acceptance are specified.

It is convenient to separately indicate in the application:

• who confirms that unloading is possible;
• whether a specific arrival window is required;
• which accessories must arrive with the main unit;
• whether delivery in several shipments is acceptable;
• who checks the packages and components on receipt.

How to compare freight quotations

Proposals should be compared if the scope of work is the same. The low amount may only apply to a transport section excluding collection, special approvals or separate operations. Therefore, in the quotation it is important to see the starting and ending points, additional costs and waiting conditions.

Is it possible to transport used equipment? Feasibility is assessed based on the specific product, its condition and documents. For a quotation, you will need current photographs, completeness and parameters after preparation for transportation.

Is it possible to immediately confirm departure after purchase? First you need to check the readiness for delivery, the admissibility of transportation, documents and the availability of a suitable delivery scheme. The vehicle collection date is agreed after these checks.
