Equipment after dismantling: a register of components and packages
Record transport configuration, component identity and specialist responsibilities between dismantling and carrier handover.
Dismantling can turn one machine into several independent packages. Installed dimensions no longer describe the shipment. Transport preparation needs a register of the actual removed components and the condition of each package. Responsible specialists determine dismantling, isolation, preservation, lifting and securing arrangements using the manufacturer’s applicable documentation.
Separate technical decisions from transport records
Before work begins, agree who prepares the equipment, who packs it and who confirms readiness for handover. A logistics checklist must not become a dismantling instruction. Ask the manufacturer or authorised specialist to define the transport position and relevant restrictions for each component. Retain the document reference and version. ABB manuals, for example, address transport and storage for particular products; their instructions cannot automatically be transferred to other equipment.
Build the register after actual packaging
Give each package a stable identifier linked to its component and original machine. Record transport weight, dimensions, packaging and external markings. List cables, panels and small accessories separately or within an identified set. Avoid calling them “miscellaneous” when the receiver will need individual parts for assembly. Photographs connect the labels to the register but do not replace confirmed cargo measurements.
Record condition at handover
Identify previous use, known external defects and completeness against the agreed list. Disclose retained fluids, batteries or other transport-relevant elements before a vehicle is selected; appropriate specialists decide the preparation required. Both sender and receiver should understand which checks have been completed and which are outside the handover scope. “Ready for transport” needs a named confirmer and a clear reference to the requirements used.
Connect the register with receiving and storage
Give the receiver the same list version that accompanies the shipment. Agree where components go and who receives accessories. If assembly happens later, obtain storage requirements from the person responsible for the equipment. Update identifiers and documents before loading whenever contents change. A clear change record helps prevent a removed part disappearing between the dismantling team, packer and receiving warehouse.
- Name the parties responsible for dismantling, preparation, packing and handover.
- Link each component to its package identifier and original equipment.
- Record actual weight, dimensions and packaging after preparation is complete.
- Have specialists confirm handling restrictions and disclose known condition and characteristics.
- Provide the receiver with the current register, label photographs and receiving procedure.
Leave the route and contacts to discuss transport. Email the register, photographs and approved documents to info@inlogistics.kz with your request reference. A manager will clarify the conditions.
