When ordering equipment from a Turkish supplier, not just one item, but a whole set can be prepared for shipment: the main unit, control cabinet, spare parts and auxiliary components. If you focus only on the readiness of the main cargo item, the accessories needed for commissioning run the risk of remaining in the seller’s warehouse. Therefore, the transportation plan should be linked to the complete set of the order.

How to connect production and transport

The planned completion date for production does not always mean readiness for loading. After this, completeness checks, packaging and preparation of documents may be required. Before delivering the vehicle, it is necessary to confirm the readiness of the shipment for transfer to the carrier.

For an order containing several items, make a list with a separate ready date for each. Note which items should arrive together and which the recipient is able to accept later. This information allows you to discuss a single shipment or multiple stages without accidentally separating the equipment set.

What parameters determine the transportation format?

When choosing a vehicle, the weight, dimensions, number of packages, the ability to be placed next to other cargo and the manufacturer’s requirements are important. The order value does not indicate how much space it will occupy in the truck. A compact, expensive installation and a large, lightweight housing have different requirements.

If the shipment does not fill a vehicle, possible transportation options are considered separately based on availability and compatibility. You should not assume in advance that any cargo can be included in a groupage shipment. For large equipment, the transport position and the possibility of movement along the chosen route are first checked.

What to agree on at the supplier's address

Before leaving, the access of transport, the procedure for admission, the method of loading and the readiness of personnel to hand over the cargo are clarified. If the shipment is located at several suppliers, separate addresses and an agreed collection sequence are needed. Additional stops cannot be automatically included in the initial rate per point.

It is useful for the supplier to provide a single list of agreed information:

  • name and contact of the recipient;
  • package numbers and their contents;
  • final packaging dimensions;
  • readiness of the documents required for cargo release;
  • information about who performs loading operations.

For oversized items, Inlogistics will arrange for the necessary special permits and approvals. The scope of work depends on the route and parameters of the vehicle with cargo; the same procedure for all countries is not assumed in advance.

Plan delivery around the receiving sequence

The recipient should determine in advance where each part of the kit will arrive: to a warehouse, workshop or project site. If these locations are different, the addresses and priority are included in the quote request. Changing the unloading point after shipment may require renegotiation of terms and conditions.

The cost is discussed taking into account all agreed points and operations. The proposal must show the start and end boundaries of the transportation, the additional sections provided and the waiting conditions. Transit countries and documents are specified according to a specific scheme, and not according to one general name of the direction.

What to do if part of the order is not ready yet? Provide dates and dependencies between items. We'll look at scheduling options; the decision to split the batch is made taking into account the needs of the recipient and additional costs.

Is it possible to pick up cargo not from the factory, but from the seller’s warehouse? Please indicate the actual collection address and access conditions. The quotation is based on the actual point of collection, even if the manufacturer is located in another city.
